THE WASHBOARD UNION TAKE HOME 7 BC COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

In an awards ceremony that took place last night in Vancouver, British Columbia, Warner Music Canada recording artists The Washboard Union won no less than seven British Columbia Country Music Association awards.  Along with the CCMA Award and Western Canadian Music awards the group won back in September it has become clear that The Washboard Union has become a force to be reckoned with.

The Washboard Union couldn’t make it to the BCCMA ceremonies because they were doing what they do best, playing live.  The band got off stage from their sold-out show in Saskatchewan to hear the news that they were the recipients of:

Group of the Year

Fans Choice

Entertainment of the Year

Single of the Year (“Head Over Heels”)

Songwriters of the Year (“Head Over Heels”)

Roots Group of the Year

This announcement comes on the heels of the band’s latest single, “Shine,” becoming the band’s third Top 10 Country radio hit. Their track “Shot Of Glory” was their first certified gold single. Recently at the Canadian Country Music Awards they won their second consecutive Roots Group of the Year award and performed their hit single, “Shine,” on the nationally televised broadcast.  Days later they were named Country Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards.

15X Country Music Award winners The Washboard Union have defied classification and have become one of the most exciting and talked about new bands on the Country music scene.  In addition to the awards won this year they were named the CCMA Rising Star winners in 2016.

The Washboard Union is led by step-brothers Aaron Grain, & Chris Duncombe and their best friend David Roberts.  The three share an unconscious soundtrack and unbridled love for the art of songwriting and storytelling that has resonated with audiences all across North America.  Their music and unforgettable live performances have set them apart as one of the most unique talents in country music today. The band are currently working on their new album scheduled for release in 2018.
