The Sadies have announced additional Canadian tour dates in Ontario and Quebec in support of Northern Passages, the band’s most recent, widely acclaimed studio album on Dine Alone Records (Canada). The tour kicks off November 9 and wraps with a special New Year’s Eve performance at The Horseshoe in Toronto on December 31.
The Sadies recently completed their very first tour of Australia and New Zealand with Justin Towne Earles to rave reviews. Writes Rolling Stone Australia, “The sun disappears behind the hulking old sheds and the chill sets in and The Sadies start their set, a thundering cow-punk-a-billy explosion. Travis Good swaps guitar for fiddle, the same punk/rock enthusiasm displayed no matter which strings he’s thrumming, and the band rumble and thrash about, their set a brutal and welcome passageway from the daytime to the night as people swap beer for margaritas and Jack Daniels…”

Recorded in the basement of Dallas and Travis’ parents’ home north of Toronto over the winter of 2015, the familiar surroundings and lack of distractions resulted in a consistent feel to Northern Passages, despite the eclecticism at the heart of The Sadies’ sound. The essence of The Sadies’ story can be summed up with the powerful image of the aurora borealis adorning the cover. Ever since the quartet, comprised of singer/guitarists Dallas and Travis Good, bassist Sean Dean and drummer Mike Belitsky, first arrived on the North American scene more than 20 years ago, their music has never been less than awe-inspiring, with no embellishment necessary.
