Reports of rock and roll’s demise have been greatly exaggerated, and Philip Sayce aims to keep it that way. On his new album Spirit Rising, Sayce boldly lets his freak flag fly, both reaffirming his status as one of the best and most exciting guitarists on the planet as well as showing the world that he’s got a lot to say. The album is heralded by lead single “Fits Me Good”, produced by Sayce. Spirit Rising hits streets April 24th and is available for preorder and presave at all DSPs here. “Fits Me Good” arrives with a gritty, emotive performance lyric video – click here to watch now!
Reflecting on the creation of Spirit Rising, Sayce says “Over the past two years, I have faced some of the most challenging experiences of my life. Many of the songs on this album reflect the struggles and wisdom I have gained during this time, and I knew that I needed to take charge of this record to fully realize my vision.”
He goes on, “I want to take my sound in new directions that reflect who I am, where I am now, and where I’m going. That was the most exciting part about making Spirit Rising — getting to experiment with my own process and collaborating with an incredible group of talented artists from different creative backgrounds was a real thrill and a privilege.”
Sayce made his major-label debut in 2015 with the album Influence, produced by Grammy award-winning producer Dave Cobb (The Highwomen, Chris Stapleton). The album spawned strong press notices, a top 20 radio track, and introduced him to many of his fellow countrymen for the first time while expanding his global audience. He followed that up with his live album Scorched Earth Volume 1, which was described by Exclaim as a “powerful and dynamic live album that never overstays it’s welcome.” For all the latest on Philip Sayce, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, or at philipsayce.com.
