Neon Dreams To Perform Live From South Africa

All Proceeds To Be Donated To Human Rights Organization
The Justice Desk

Award-winning Canadian duo Neon Dreams are the first international music group to tour South Africa since the Covid19 lockdown. With sold-out tours in most major cities and towns across the nation, fans have been clamouring for tickets to hear their hits performed live, including their number one single, “Life Without Fantasies.”

Frank Kadillac and Adrian Morris have decided to give back to the country that has embraced their music. On May 28th at 8:00 PM EST, the duo will be performing live from South Africa for a special online concert and all proceeds will be donated to The Justice Desk – a human rights organization in SA, Zimbabwe and Zambia focusing on gender-based violence, anti-human trafficking, children’s rights and more.

Neon Dreams have also committed to giving signed ukuleles to the three fans who send the most love during the special live stream. The show details and tickets are available here.

Kadillac explains: “When I was a kid, I was put into programs to help me eat before I started school and put me around inspiring people to help me see beyond my current struggles. I support [The Justice Desk] because they’re giving back in the way I envisioned myself giving back through music and that’s by starting at the root of life. The youth will change this world.”

Neon Dreams have been overwhelmed by the reception of their music in South Africa, Kadillac adds:

“’Life Without Fantasies’ is one of my favourite songs that I’ve written. It’s uplifting with a world sound vibe to it so I’m not surprised it caught on in South Africa. Fans in Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Pretoria began reaching out to us over social media saying the most beautiful things. We connected with as many fans as possible performing on Instagram live feeds, sending personal videos and private zoom concerts.”

“Life Without Fantasies” dominated South African streaming charts, spending more than one month on Spotify’s Viral 50 peaking at #2, #129 on Apple Music Top 200 Chart and #7 on the OFM Central Top 30 among other popular Apple Music and Spotify playlists.

The release peaked at #1 on South Africa’s regional radio station as well as regular daytime play on 5FM. The acoustic release of “Life Without Fantasies” made an impact with fans who share a whole new appreciation for Neon Dreams.

The 2020 JUNO Award winners for Breakthrough Group of the Year turned the most terrible situation into a positive outcome that was their sophomore album, The Happiness of Tomorrow.

Though Frank Kadillac and Adrian Morris had dozens of songs written pre-pandemic, the title track was conceived in quarantine and became the spark for the rest of the project. Their latest album includes “Don’t Go Hating Me Now” and “Sick of Feeling Useless,” one of the few songs in recent history that has crossed multiple formats in Canada. The album climbed the U.S. alternative radio charts and went Top 10 on U.S. college radio.

The Happiness of Tomorrow follows their 2019 breakout debut album Sweet Dreams till Sunbeams, which continues to earn the duo new fans, becoming a viral hit and dominating streaming charts in South Africa.
