JUNO Award-winning, Prince Edward Island based The East Pointers,are pleased to announce additional dates for their upcoming Canadian tour kicking off in Medicine Hat, AB on October 9, 2018. Fresh off the release of their new single “Two Weeks” from their JUNO Award-nominated sophomore release What We Leave Behind, The East Pointers will play eight cities in Western Canada, before heading back to Ontario to finish the tour in London, ON, on November 4.
“We’ve been on an international tour route the last few years and are now very ready to dedicate our entire fall to Canada,” said fiddler/singer Tim Chaisson. “Particularly excited for the towns we haven’t been. See you all in a few months!”
The Celtic-inspired trio are known for their incredible folk music performances and they continue to blur the lines between traditional and popular music. The new album What We Leave Behind was produced by superstar East Coast-native songwriter/producer Gordie Sampson and features a diverse selection of songs ranging from somber and hauntingly beautiful to joyous and celebratory.
The East Pointers’, comprised of fiddler/singer Tim Chaisson, banjoist Koady Chaisson and guitarist Jake Charron are known for their blistering live shows and palpable authenticity. The folk trio have been collecting a steady stream of accolades since the release of their debut album Secret Victory including, a 2017 JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year as well as a 2016 Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year. The band recently won four Music P.E.I. Awards including, Group Recording of the Year, Roots Contemporary Recording of the Year, Song of the Year and Touring Artist of the Year and wrapped successful sold out tours of Australia, UK and the United States.
