Canadian Music Week and The INDIES Presents

JULY TALK

Full Concert Broadcast on Sessions

Canadian Music Week and The INDIES are thrilled to present a full concert byJuly Talk, on Thursday, May 27 at 8pmET. Fans are invited to watch virtually from anywhere – broadcasting on Sessions. Tickets are on sale now at sessionslive.com/JulyTalk.

The July Talk concert features the full band, pre-recorded at the legendary El Mocambo Tavern in Toronto. July Talk are nominated for two awards at the 2021 Jim Beam INDIE Awards.

July Talk continues to rise with purpose and poise. The band stormed in with the flinty rock n’ roll of their debut, followed by the volatile siren songs of Touch, an album of sawtoothed pop + convulsing tension. Pray For It, July Talk acknowledges the power of vulnerability as a way to begin again. Their churning and fiercely physical performances make spaces hiss and hum, spit and seethe in glorious, artful abandon.

The band has also grown in their roles as advocates of an urgent and fundamental music industry recalibration, through curatorial partnerships with festivals and by defining their own parameters for safer spaces at rock shows. July Talk is Leah Fay, Peter Dreimanis, Josh Warburton, Ian Docherty + Danny Miles.

The INDIES (The Canadian Independent Music Awards) celebrates its 20thanniversary Sunday, May 30. The Jim Beam INDIE Awards acknowledge, promote and honour the achievements of Canadian artists that embody the spirit of the independent music sector. “Jim Beam Bourbon is a proud, long-time supporter of Canadian music,” says Patrick Sweeney, National Marketing Director, Canada & Global Canadian Whisky Brand House at Beam Suntory. “This year’s INDIE awards celebrate the industry’s tremendous achievements despite the pandemic. We can’t wait to welcome musicians and consumers back to live music in the near future.”

Canadian Music Week is Canada’s leading annual entertainment event dedicated to the expression and growth of the country’s music, media and entertainment industries. Combining multifaceted information-intensive conferences; a trade exposition; awards shows and the nation’s largest new music festival.
