WEDDING DAY BLUES (OR PURPLES!)
Music Express art director and principal photographer Ted Van Boort and his better half, Karen Uildersma exchanged wedding vows atop of Hamilton Mountain on Thursday July 28th. A group of their friends (including Music Express editor, Keith Sharp, who served as the Best Man) gathered at Sam Lawrence Park to celebrate the nuptials.
“My Grandmother absolutely adored Karen, said Ted, so to we chose her birthday as our wedding day”. “Our first meeting was almost 30 years ago.We dated and lived together for about a year but it wasn’t working”.
“We went our separate ways,took different partners and life carried on.We re-connected through Facebook where we told each other how unhappy we were in our present relationships. We also felt that we weren’t really done yet.Things between us were incomplete. After a false start, we tried again. This time we knew, this was where we should’ve been all those years ago”. We asked some of our closest friends to the wedding, a few couldn’t make it but we wouldn’t have changed anything about the day…Except the humidity!
