The tiny town of Mattawa was rocking over the weekend as a lineup of Country, Rock and Tribute Bands assembled on the banks of the picturesque Mattawa River to celebrate the 21st annual Mattawa Voyageur Days festival which were executed Friday Sept.27th, Saturday Sept 28th and Sunday Sept 29th.
Each day averaged an attendance of over 3,500, not bad for a local event held in Mattawa, population 2,100 and the attendees were entertained by a Friday Country Music lineup featuring Eric Etheridge, Andrew Hiatt and The James Barker Band.
Classic rock took centre stage Saturday with an impressive set by Brantford’s Logan Statts setting the stage for a riveting performance by Montreal’s The Box. Saskatoon’s Wide Mouth Mason and Burlington’s Finger Eleven completed the evening with Sunday’s finale turned over to Tribute Bands; Shania Live, Carl Dixon’s Guess Who tribute and AC/DC’s Great Scott Tribute.
