When Unique Restaurant Group owner, Graeme Tosh hit 50 years old, he decided to throw himself a unique birthday party. So he called upon Canadian rock bands whom he was a great fan of in the 1980’s and invited them to perform Saturday at the Ancaster Fairgrounds (near Hamilton ON.)

As a result, Platinum Blonde, Honeymoon Suite, Helix, Saga, The Kings and two local bands (The McFlys and Freedom Train) have been conscripted to perform between 4:30 and 10:30. General ticket price is just $60.

“Graeme is a field of dreams kind of guy, his attitude is. If you organize it, they will come,” noted wife Sharon. “He wanted to do something special for his 50th birthday so he has organized a festival featuring the music that he loves.”

Tosh, who operates nine restaurants in the Hamilton area, is no stranger to organizing music events although previous activities have featured local bands playing in restaurant parking lots. “Last year we had Finger Eleven perform in the parking lot of our Stoney Creek Powerhouse restaurant,” Tosh noted. “We closed off the street around the restaurant and the event was very successful.

Tosh has been promoting URG Fest through his restaurant chain and sees the event as a strong public relations initiative for his regular customers.  Camping is available on site on first come first serve basis and there is a VIP ticket available for $80.00.
