THREE DAYS GRACE
True to form, Norwood Ontario’s Three Days Grace have maintained their one record every three years schedule with the release of `Human’, the big difference here is that this is the first record featuring former My Darkest Days vocalist Matt Waist who replace the previous frontman Adam Gontier in early 2014. Having previously released two singles; “Painkiller” and “I Am Machine” on iTunes last year, Three Days Grace fans will have some idea what to expect and then end result should fulfill their expectations. Produced by ace studio wiz Gavin Brown, Human continues the band’s development away from their previous alt-rock image with some sophisticated arrangements around a series of mid-tempo lyrics, many containing a philosophical message such as “One To Many” and “The End Is Not The Answer”. Certainly songs like “Painkiller”, “Human Race” and “Fallen Angel” reflect an even more commercial approach that will mark this album as one of the year’s key releases. With a touring schedule set to include key U.S festival and international venues, Three Days Grace are off to a fresh start and with Matt Waist joining forces with brother Brad Waist on bass, Barry Stock on guitar and drummer Neil Sanderson, this renewed sense of continuity will negate any concerns about losing their former vocalist.
