Canada’s leading country band The Washboard Union premiered two music videos with an inter-connecting storyline today as part of a “double feature” event – their current single “If She Only Knew” and “Never Run Outta Road.”
“A double video release is a first for us as a band and more than anything we wanted to do something special for our fans who have stood behind us through such a strange and difficult time,” says The Washboard Union, who teamed up once again with director Stephano Barberis on both of the videos.
“The young actors in these videos were troopers. It was cold and wet and they brought such magic to the screen. Their professionalism and wonderful chemistry made working with the actors, and this team, so rewarding. Thank you.”
Both songs are featured on the band’s award-winning album Everbound. At last year’s CCMA Awards, The Washboard Union took home the trophy for Group or Duo of the Year for the third consecutive year, becoming the first band this decade to win in the category for three straight years.
They also won their fifth consecutive award in the Roots category, and now have earned nine career CCMA Awards.
The Washboard Union on “If She Only Knew:”
“This is a song about mustering up the courage to tell someone special exactly how you feel about them and how they’ve changed everything around you just by being who they are. You may only have one chance to impress the person of your dreams. What would you do to make it count”
The Washboard Union on “Never Run Outta Road:”
“Imagine someone just handed you the keys to a racetrack and said “GO.” It was like being in Mario Kart for 12 Hours straight. ‘Never Run Outta Road’ is a wish as much as it is a song about never stopping the journey you’re on and never losing the sense of ‘wonder’ you’re born with.”
The Washboard Union has become Canada’s preeminent country band with a growing following all over the world. What started out as three best friends and a love of songwriting has grown into the most exciting, recognized and talked about band in country music. Resonating with audiences far and wide from North America to Europe, performing in front of over 200,000 fans in 2019, The Washboard Union’s dynamic live performances have set them apart as one of the most unique talents in music today.
The gold-certified trio are winners of the Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year, and their two CCMA Award wins this year bring their career music award total to an incredible 30.
