MONOWHALES Release Cover Of Iconic Nine Inch Nails Single “The Hand That Feeds”

Toronto-based alt-rockers MONOWHALES have released their take on the Nine Inch Nails track “The Hand That Feeds.”  The group makes the most of this opportunity to put their own stamp on the iconic track, propelled by a powerful vocal from lead singer Sally Shaar.

“The Hand That Feeds” is the first new music from MONOWHALES since the release of their album Daytona Bleach, which enjoyed an incredible run of success at Canadian radio where it spawned three top-five singles, including “RWLYD,” “All or Nothing” and “Out with the Old.”  Click here to stream or download “The Hand That Feeds” now.

Of this cover, Shaar says, “This is the perfect song to relate to in this new chapter of our dystopian era. It speaks to all of those who circle and prey above us and dares to ask the collective community around us to question what exactly we plan to do about it. Will we acknowledge the cost of what it will take to bring about real change?

I have a deep connection to this track, and immense respect for what Nine Inch Nails have contributed to the history of music. We hope to take note of their bravery and move towards making new music that spits out our truths unapologetically, smashes you across the face with industriousness, and leaves all manners at the door.”

In addition to the new music, MONOWHALES have announced that their own label TRUE Records has signed a distribution deal with Warner Music Canada.   The band will be making a number of exciting announcements in the coming months, with new music coming soon.

Exploding onto the scene in 2017, Toronto-based MONOWHALES have put a new lease on the alt-rock genre and established themselves as one of the most exciting new bands in Canada. Their 2019 breakout single “RWLYD (Really Wanna Let You Down)” made history as MONOWHALES became the only independent, self-managed band to chart at #2 on the Mediabase Canada Alternative Rock Chart.

With multiple Top 10 singles, millions of streams, and countless shows played across Canada (including support slots for K.Flay, DFA 1979, Sloan, and Marianas Trench), MONOWHALES have earned a special place in the hearts and minds of fans across the country.
