It has also just been announced that Jonathan will be joining the Burton Cummings 15-date tour through Ontario that begins at the Capitol Centre in North Bay on Sunday, October 9. Full tour details below.
Jonathan Roy is the son of hockey legend Patrick Roy. Jonathan had grown up following in his father’s footsteps, playing goalie for the Quebec Ramparts but his true life calling was music.
In 2013, Roy was introduced to Canadian music icon Corey Hart who felt an immediate soulful connection to young Roy and soon thereafter signed him to his Siena Records label partnered with Warner Music Canada.
Later this year Jonathan will release a Christmas single which will feature Hart. It will be the first Xmas recording Corey has appeared on since his classic live rendition of “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” in 1985.
Roy will be joining Hart and his family (Hart affectionately refers to Jon as his 5th kid) on the red carpet of Canada’s Walk of Fame in which Corey will be inducted tomorrow in Toronto -October 6.
