With what is sure to be the hottest concert ticket of the season, The Tragically Hip announced today on their face book, the 10 dates that will constitute, the band’s final tour this summer.
Having announced yesterday, the shocking news that lead singer, Gord Downie had been stricken with terminal brain cancer, band members Paul Langlios, Gord Sinclair, Johnny Fay and Rob Baker have announced an abbreviated 10-date tour in support of the release of their “Man Machine Poem” record due for release later this month.
Factoring in concerns for Downie’s on-going health situation, promoters Live Nation are spreading the dates at least two days apart and have scheduled two concerts for the Air Canada Centre Toronto on August 10th and 12th. The tour concludes August 20th in what will surely be a major emotional event at the band’s home town Kingston Rogers K Rock Centre.
