Rap superstar Drake will be hoping that his beloved Toronto Raptors’ NBA basketball team gives him another reason to celebrate as tonight’s game 5 play-off against Indiana Pacers comes just two days before the release of his much anticipated new release – `Views’ which will be officially released on Friday April 29th.
Also announced today was the Apple sponsorship of his Summer Sixteen tour which will feature 32 major North American dates throughout this summer including two dates at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on the 31st of July and the 1st of August and the final date of his tour is set for 17th September at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena. The Apple sponsorship follows the successful commercial tie-in with Drake’s “Hotline Bling” single and is the first time the iconic company has launched such a commercial tie-in.
Accompanying Drake on tour will be his recent collaborator, Future, plus two Canadian artists from Drizzy’s own OVO label, Roy Woods and DVSN.
Drizzy has been a constant figure around Toronto of late, filming his “Work” video collaboration with Rhianna at Toronto’s Real Jerk restaurant, dishing out t-shirts at a pop up store in Toronto last Sunday and of course positioned courtside at Raptor’s home games as his position as ambassador for the team.
