Last night Drake premiered three original songs from his upcoming new project More Life, to be released in December 2016 via OVO/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.
Revealing the news on his Beats 1 show, OVO Sound Radio he said that he wanted this playlist to “provide a soundtrack to your life.” “Fake Love” and “Sneakin” (featuring Savage 21) are available now, and the third track “Two Birds One Stone” will be available shortly. The surprise announcement also featured the playlist’s (as Drizzy is not calling this a mixtape) artwork being unveiled on his Instagram page.
The milestones continue for Drake, as not only is today his 30th birthday, but last week he claimed the title of being the most streamed artist in Spotify history (knocking Ed Sheeran from the top spot) with his track “One Dance” off of the massive smash record Views, which was released earlier this year. Views also broke a record by being the first album in ten years to hold the #1 spot for ten non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts.
His works have seen close to over eight billion plays on Spotify, a billion views on YouTube, and now he’s broken yet another record for the most EVER American Music Award nominations (13 in total) – with this announcement, it’s hard to imagine what record he’ll break next.
