After a career stretching four studio albums and 11 years, Toronto’s Billy Talent have reached a career milestone with the release of a 14-track `Hits’ best –of release which also contains two new tracks, the incendiary “Kingdom Of Zod” and the melodic “Chasing the Sun”. Sparked by Benjamin Kowalewicz’s distinctive vocals, Ian D’Sa’s fiery guitar work and the driving rhythm section of bassist John Gallant and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk, Billy Talent has developed from a stylish punk outfit on their self-titled debut to a more complex power rock unit by their fourth, Dead Silence release. Through this time, Billy Talent have never compromised their sound, never tried to be radio friendly for the sake of scoring hit singles yet charted their own success with tracks like their punkish debut “Try Honesty”, their melodic “Rusted From The Rain” or their almost Iron Maidenesque “Viking Death March”. Blending a unique instrumental sound with Kowalewicz’s expressive vocals, Billy Talent has created a major following both in Canada, Europe and Australia with the U.S still to be conquered, but they are getting there. There is a deluxe package available which contains live video footage of concerts at Montreal’s Metropolis and Toronto’s Sound Academy venues and a limited edition super deluxe package which contains the CD, DVD and a full colour souvenir booklet of band photographs.
