A TRIBE CALLED RED KICK OFF EIGHT DAY REZ TOUR TONIGHT

TOUR TO HIT RESERVES IN MANITOBA,

ONTARIO AND QUEBEC

Today, world-renowned Producer/DJ crew, A Tribe Called Red, embark on their second Rez Tour. After bringing their live show to First Nations reserves in the summer of 2015, Tribe is thrilled to get back on the road again to present free all-ages shows in these communities, along with free youth workshops. The tour will visit reservations in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, and starts tonight in the Treaty One Territory (see below for a full list of dates).

The Rez Tour will bring the same stellar live show that Tribe is touring around the world, showing local youth that it can be done, and is being done, by people that look like them and are like them. The performances and workshops aim to bolster self-love and pride in their Indigenous cultures, with the group even using the traditional community names, in the local languages, for the tour routing – instilling that the public at large should know that they’re on traditional lands. Tribe’s team will be bringing their own professional sound, lighting and staging to these communities, as a self-sufficient traveling show. The Rez Tour is made possible by contributions by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Music Fund, and the Slaight Foundation, which help cover part of the costs of the tour.

Tribe’s latest album, We Are The Halluci Nation, was released in September 2016 to critical acclaim. The record earned the group a spot on the 2016 Polaris Music Prize Short List, a JUNO win at the 2017 Awards for Producer of the Year, and a 2018 JUNO Award for Group of the Year. We Are The Halluci Nation is a visionary blend of electronic and dance music that’s forward-thinking with a deep sense of heritage and cultural identity. The remastered album is now available on vinyl, with a limited-edition green and yellow vinyl available at the band’s webstore.
