TORONTO – After the massive success of Wintersleep’s first single “AMERIKA, the band launch their new single “SPIRIT” at commercial radio in Canada. “AMERIKA”, the anthemic first single from The Great Detachment (Dine Alone Records), was wholly embraced at radio, occupying the #1 slot at BDS overall commercial Rock radio for 10 weeks and #1 at commercial Alternative radio for 8 weeks (a feat not seen in Canada since Sam Roberts Bands’ single “We’re all in this together” hit #1 for 6 weeks in early 2014.) It has seen over 800K streams on Spotify and made social commentary with a captivating apocalyptic mini-film directed by Scott Cudmore featuring clips from speeches made by current US Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. Watch it here.
Known for their poignant and timely lyrics, Wintersleep’s new single “Spirit” states that we’re “caught in the spirit of our time” and asks “are you gonna be alright?” They filmed the song live for a CBC Television’s Backstage Pass to celebrate the launch of their record. Watch it here:
