Kelowna, British Columbia Rock’n’Rollers, The Wild!, are pleased to confirm their direct support for AIRBOURNE on their upcoming North American tour. The tour begins in San Diego, California on September 12th, taking them through North America’s biggest cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and New York. The band will also embark on a Canadian run, starting in their province’s capital, Vancouver, on September 17th. See full tour dates below.
“This pairing is perfect. I think the fans are gonna love it.” says The Wild’s Lead vocalist/Lead guitarist Dylan Villain.“We have a lot of respect for the guys in Airbourne and what they’ve done for rock’n’roll over the years. Being out on the road with them inNorth America is a hell of a thing & a dream come true for us. We’re all fired up over here.”
In addition to the dates, fans of The Wild! should know that the band has been writing and recording their new album, Wild At Heart (eOne Music). The follow up to their debut EP, GxDxWxB, will include new single, Ready to Roll, which will be released on October 14th. The new full length album is produced and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Jimmy Page, Van Halen) at Armoury Studios in Vancouver.
“We’ve generated a lot of interest in rock’n’roll here in Canada,” says Villain. “And now we’re looking forward to sharing our sound with the rest of the world. We really hit the nail on the head with what we wanted to do with this band. I feel that there’s a lot of bands out there that try to do this or that, but we don’t try to do anything. We just do.”
The record is going to be an all-out, take no prisoner’s release – like a ’67 GTO bombin’ down a back road at night with the light out, so you might want to buckle up for the ride. While the album and its forthcoming single are on it’s way to fans soon, everyone can sneak a peek and hear some new music from The Wild! on this tour.
About The Wild!
On vocals/lead guitar, Dylan Villian embodies all of the reckless abandon and good-natured devilish charm that could only be born in a very small backwoods community. Counterbalancing Villian’s snakebite rasp is bassist/vocalist Boozus. Beer drinkin’, beard havin’, fly-fishin’ are his favourite past times.
Kickin’ ass & keeping time is drummer Reese Lightning. A beast with beats & everyone’s favourite asshole. You’ll love him! Rounding out The Wild!’s lineup is “The Kid” on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Young blood and zero fucks given. What The Kid lacks in age, he makes up in attitude and swagger.
2014 saw the band’s music video for their first single, Road House, go viral on Youtube which led to notable airplay at Active Rock Radio in Canada, landing the group in the Top 30 rock charts. Later that summer, The Wild! hit the road playing alongside of bands like Korn, Rise Against, Monster Truck, The Glorious Sons and One Bad Son.
“I feel like for every thousand bands that are out there right now you’ll get maybe ten that believe the things they’re singing about, which is the most important thing to me in any genre,” says Villain. “I don’t give a shit what kind of music you play. If you care about it then really give yourself to that moment. Our fans aren’t stupid and I feel that they’re hungry for things that aren’t so disposable.”
