Montreal pop star Corey Hart and Country Music star Brett Kissel have both received honours as the 2016 inductees into Canada’s Walk Of Fame were announced Tuesday by Corus Entertainment.
Hart, who’s debut `First Offense’ went platinum and his second album, `Boy In A Box’ sold over one million units is best known for two major hits; “Sunglasses At Night” and “Never Surrender” which triggered a career that included over 16 million records sold , charting 9 Billboard Top 40 hits.
Hart who is married to Quebec songstress Julie Masse, will be inducted into the 2016 Canada’s Walk of Fame along with former Toronto Maple Leaf hockey star, Darryl Sittler, filmmaker Deepa Mehta, actor Jason Priestley , actor/director Al Waxman and fashion entrepreneur Jeanne Beker.

Country Music’s Brett Kissel will also be recognized with the Allan Slaight Honour which recognizes inspirational new talent in the music industry field. The 26-year old Kissel from Flat Lake Alberta is a multi CCMA and Juno Award winner.
Canada Walk of Fame celebrations will be staged October 6th at the Allstream Centre in Toronto, commencing with a red-carpet star induction between 4pm-6pm (that is open to the general public) followed by the Walk Of Fame Gala which will feature speeches by the inductees, plus special presenters and musical guests. Canada’s Walk of Fame Gala will be telecast on Sunday Dec.18th.
