GRAMMYS RECOGNIZE CANUCK R&B TALENT

Abel Testfaye, aka The Weeknd will have will have Monday February 15th circled prominently on his calendar as he competes against the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift at the 58th  annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

The Weeknd has been nominated for seven awards, the same as Swift with Lamar leading the pack will 11 nominations.

Weeknd’s album, Beauty Behind The Madness release has been nominated for “Album Of The Year” and Best Contemporary Album, his single “Can’t Feel My Face” is up for “Record Of The Year” and “Pop Solo Performance”, and “Earned It”, his Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack contribution is up for R&B song, R&B Performance and Best Song Written For Visual Media.

Fellow T Dot rapper, Drake is up for five nominations including Best Rap Album, “It You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late” and for Rap Performance  with “Back To Back” as well as a co-singing credit on Nicki Minaj’s “Truffle Butter” (Best Rap Performance), and “Only” (Best Rap/Sung Contribution) and a song writing credit on “Energy” (Best Rap Song).

Justin Bieber makes up the triumvirate of Canadian R&B artists by earning a co-performance/writing credit with Skrillex and Diplo on The Best Dance Record nomination for “Where Are U Now”.
