BLUE RODEO DUO FETED WITH ORDER OF CANADA CITATIONS
Arise Sir James, Arise Sir Gregory…Oops, wrong country!
Still it is a notable achievement at Blue Rodeo’s creative pair, Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor were appointed Officers of The Order Of Canada at ceremonies staged last week at Ottawa’s Rideau Hall. The honour was bestowed by His Excellency; The Right Honourable David Johnson to the pair as well as astronaut turned recording artist, Chris Hadfield and former Bank Of Canada chief, Mark Caplan amongst other notable recipients.

“It’s an incredible honour, and as I read the accomplishments of everybody who is inducted today, Greg and I are wondering, “What are we doing here?” questioned Cuddy to CBC News on receiving his medal which cited the pairs’ work for enhancing the lives of the people in this nation, not only for their music but also for their tireless charity efforts.
“Honestly, it never occurred to Greg and I that it would lead to us receiving these official formal honours,” noted Cuddy. “And yet, when you look at the breadth of people we are honoured by the Order Of Canada, it’s just about trying to make people’s lives better.”
Having released their `Live At Massey Hall’ Cd earlier this year, the band will be back at this staid Toronto venue February 18 and 19th as part of a 20-date Canadian tour early in the new year.
