SHANIA TWAIN RETURNS HOME TO CANADA, KICKS OFF SECOND HALF OF 2018 NOW TOUR

Global superstar and one of Canada’s most celebrated performers, Shania Twain kicks off the second leg of her worldwide tour NOW on June 25 in Ottawa. This is the first of many Canadian stops the singer will make throughout the summer on her highly anticipated tour. Full tour dates below.

Fans attending the Hamilton show on Saturday, June 30 will be treated to an extra-special duet performance featuring Shania and Kaylee Tobar-Munoz, a talented fifth-grader who is part of Shania Kids Can. The charity foundation, which works directly with schools offering academic, social and personal support to children in need, was established in 2010 by Shania in effort to relieve the economic, social and personal sufferings of children that she herself lived through as a child. Kaylee is now in her third year with Shania Kids Can through which she discovered her love of singing. With the support of the charitable foundation Kaylee began participating in her school choir and will be taking vocal and guitar lessons this summer.

Performing on-stage with Shania in Hamilton will be a dream come true for Kaylee who is one of thousands of children across Canada that have been positively impacted Shania Kids Can. Until August 6, 2018, fans throughout North America can text ‘SHANIA’ to 20222 and donate $10 to Shania Kids Charitable Foundation.

On returning home and her dedication to Shania Kids Can, Shania comments, “I’m a proud Canadian and being able to give back through the Shania Kids Can foundation is one of my greatest accomplishments. To know that SKC can help promote positive change in children going through personal and economic hardships is a tremendous feeling. My hope is that we can continue to expand SKC programs and reach more children in need. ”

Kaylee adds, “This feels awesome, I’m excited, I’m nervous but I’m really excited about singing and mostly excited for the concert. I’ve been practicing and I think I’ll be pretty good up there with Shania, I’ve been waiting for this for a while now.”

In addition to Shania’s busy touring schedule, the five-time Grammy and 24-time CCMA Award winner was recently announced as the host of the 2018 CCMA Awards at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton on Sunday, September 9. The awards will be broadcast live nationwide at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on CBC and cbcbmusic.ca/ccmas.

The annual award ceremony honours and showcases the biggest names and emerging talent in country music, featuring performances, collaborations and unforgettable moments. One of those moments will be Shania’s acceptance of The Generation Award. Only the second artist to receive this honour, Shania will be celebrated for her significant impact on the country music industry and her unmatchable ability to create mass awareness of country music around the globe.
