THE STRUMBELLAS COME HOME FOR FALL TOUR DATES

Toronto, ON – August 16, 2016 – The Strumbellas’ spirits are alive and kicking! The band has had a stellar summer, touring across North America including festival dates at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Newport Folk Festival; making their first trips to perform for their European fans later this month, including stops at France’s Rock en Seine, London’s Borderline, and Italy’s Mojotic Festival and Unaltrofestival.

They are also celebrating the platinum status in Canada and double platinum status in Italy of their hit single, Spirits, from their third full-length release, Hope (Six Shooter Records in Canada, Glassnote Records internationally).

The band gets on the bus and kicks up some dust for a bunch of Southwestern and West Coast U.S. tour dates with Cold War Kids, coveted festival plays at Austin City Limits and Pilgrimage festivals and their own headline shows in the Midwest and Eastern seaboard.  They also touch down in Vancouver mid-October for a string of Canadian dates, with special guests, The Zolas. Please see below for full tour dates and be sure to check www.thestrumbellas.ca for live show updates.

Hope debuted at #1 on the Alternative Top 200 Chart and #3 overall – the band’s highest chart debut. The infectious first single, Spirits, hit #1 at Alternative Radio in Canada and the U.S., #1 on the national Italian AirPlay chart, has been streamed over 50 million times to date, and has 20 million views on its accompanying video.

The six-piece Lindsay-bred band made their network television debut with a performance of Spirits and Shovels and Dirt (Watch Below) on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in March and went on to play major shows in New York, Los Angeles and Austin, TX, playing a whopping 12 shows in four days at SXSW. On the eve of Hope’s release, the band performed the hit single once again on CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Already the recipients of many prestigious awards in Canada, the band was named Group of the Year at the Indie Awards, won the Heatseeker Radio Award at the Canadian Radio Music Awards, and Hope was Long Listed for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize.
