TEA PARTY BACK WITH A BANG!

Anthem Recording Artists, The Tea Party established their comeback in a big way by winning all six categories they were nominated for in the 2015 Music Express Awards.

In results announced Tuesday, The Tea Party claimed Top Group, Top Comeback Group/Artist, Top Live Act (Small Venue), Top Record (for `The Ocean At The End’- their first studio album in 10 years) Top Single for `Black Roses’ and Top Album Artwork Design.

Other artists receiving TME custom microphone awards, courtesy of sponsor Long & McQuade, were: Bryan Adams (Top Male Vocalist), Jann Arden (Top Female Vocalist), July Talk (Top Emerging Artist/Group), Montreal’s Arcade Fire (Top Live Act – Large Venue) and the Headstones, whose ravenous fans took to twitter pushing them to a narrow victory, claiming the Top Compilation Record award for `One In the Chamber’.

Over 52,000 votes, including over 6,000 via twitter, were logged by Music Express which opened up the voting process to its online music magazine’s fan base. “It’s all about a fan vote,” said Music Express publisher Chad Maker. “The Music Express Awards are all about getting the artist’s fan base involved. They determine the final outcome.”

“This was the first year that fans have been able to follow the progress of the voting online in realtime and included social media voting.”  said Kirk Comrie, Technical Director for Music Express, “It was challenging tabulating the overwhelming response of all the votes, but we look forward to next year being even bigger!”.

This is the third year of the new Music Express Awards for artists nominated by M.E personnel with winners determined by a fan vote. A complete breakdown of results is posted here.
