Canadian platinum-selling singer-songwriter and award-winning artist Tebey releases his new album The Good Ones on January 22 via Jayward Artist Group/ The Orchard/ Sony Music Canada and all streaming services. The new album pairs Tebey’s pop roots with his cool, contemporary country voice and signature catchy choruses.
Tebey’s recent 3.5M+ streaming single Happened on a Saturday Night, also included on the album, is currently in the Top 10 on Canadian country radio. The track sees Tebey reflecting on weekends growing up and pulls you in with reminders of Saturday nights when life was simpler. On November 20th, “Shotgun Rider” was offered to fans on DSPs only, with very positive results and prominent playlisting. The stunning video directed by Sean Cartwright and shot by David Schuurman will be launched to the world with the support of Boots and Hearts Music Festival (where Tebey is performing summer 2021) on social media on December 11th.
“My producer Danick Dupelle and I wanted to finish this album early 2020, right before the pandemic hit. We couldn’t get together for several months to complete it, and it’s actually good that we didn’t. Had we finished this album in the winter as planned, ‘Happened on a Saturday Night’ never would have been written,” said Tebey. “I’ve never shied away from stepping outside the box when making a record. I love to experiment with melodies and sounds that you wouldn’t typically find in country music. Songs like ‘Shotgun Rider’ and ‘See You Around’ are examples of where you’ll hear that the most.”
Tebey first came to prominence as a songwriter for both pop and country artists. His incredible pop credits include One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Cher, Pixie Lott and Flo Rida and as a songwriter, he has six #1’s; one in the US, one in the UK and four in Canada. Tebey was also recently nominated for a Fans’ Choice Award and Male Artist of the Year at the 2020 CCMA Awards.
Tebey’s hit songs include “Denim On Denim,” and “Who’s Gonna Love You”, his biggest hits to date achieving Platinum and Gold status and 10 million streams and 7.6 million streams respectively. His smash cover version of “Wake Me Up” also achieved Gold status and he had his first Billboard #1 song in 2018 with “Somebody Else Will” performed by country star Justin Moore along with a No. 1, three top 5’s, four top 10’s and four top 20 hits as an artist.
