Two-time reigning CCMA Female Artist of the Year scores first chart-topping single
Warner Music Canada recording artist, Meghan Patrick, the reigning two-time Country Music Association (CCMA) Female Artist of the Year, has her first #1 single at Country Radio this week with “Walls Come Down.” With this chart-topping news, Meghan joins Lindsay Ell as the only two female artists to reach to the top of the Nielsen/BDS and Mediabase Country airplay charts in 2018. This marks the first time two women have scored #1’s in the same year since 1999 – a feat last accomplished by CCMA Hall of Famers Shania Twain “Honey I’m Home” and Terri Clark “Easy On The Eyes”.
Meghan is one of seven Canadian artists to reach #1 at Country Radio in 2018, the most in one calendar year since Nielsen/BDS began tracking radio play in 1995.
“Thank you to everyone at radio for all of your support and all of the people at Warner that work so hard on my behalf,” said Meghan when she heard the news. “I’m just so grateful for all of the people that are in my corner and truly appreciate the outpouring of love I’ve received on social media this weekend.”
Taken from her sophomore release, Country Music Made Me Do It, “Walls Come Down” was written by Meghan Patrick, Justin Weaver and Kelly Archer. Meghan debuted the single with her dynamic live performance on the 2018 CCMA Awards show broadcast in September.

“Thanks to our friends at country radio for their ongoing support and of course thanks to Meghan Patrick for the incredible music,” says Warner Music Canada President Steve Kane. “’Walls Come Down’ is an incredibly powerful, honest song and to see it sitting at the top of the charts is a testament to Meghan’s artistry.”
Meghan Patrick is one of the most exciting country artists today. In addition to her CCMA success, Meghan also recently made history by becoming the first solo female artist to take home the Fans’ Choice Award at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards. With her debut album, Grace and Grit generating four Top 20 singles and a Top 10 hit with Still Loving You, Meghan Patrick released her sophomore album (Country Music Made Me Do It) earlier this year to great fanfare, debuting at #2 on the Soundscan Country Album Chart and Top 10 on the Top Albums Chart.
The first single from the album, also titled “Country Music Made Me Do It” reached the Top 5 followed by “The Bad Guy” which was a Top 15 hit. In concert, she has shared the stage with superstars like Lady Antebellum, Dwight Yoakam, Kip Moore and Martina McBride, as well as performing a duet with Keith Urban at the Timmins Stars & Thunder Festival.
