THE WASHBOARD UNION CONTINUE BIG WINS IN 2018 WITH 6 BCCMA AWARDS

At  a ceremony held this past weekend at the Molson Canadian Theatre in Coquitlam, B.C., Warner Music Canada recording artists The Washboard Union were honoured with 6 awards from the British Columbia Country Music Association including Songwriter(s) of the Year, Group/Duo of the Year. Entertainers of the Year, Album of the Year, Gaylord Wood Traditional/Roots and Website of the Year. These latest honours come just ahead of the band’s upcoming tour of Ontario, and Western Canada (see tour dates below).

2018 has been one hell of a year for the Vancouver-based band. The Washboard Union started the year touring Western Canada with Old Dominion who have just invited the band to join them again on their 2019 Eastern Canada tour.  This past April they released the full-length debut album What We’re Made Of featuring the hits “Shine,” “What We’re made Of” and the current Top 20 hit single “Feel Like That.”  Following a very full slate of festival dates throughout the summer, the band pulled in to The Canadian Country Music Awards in Hamilton, Ontario in early September and walked away the prestigious award for Group or Duo of the Year as well as their third consecutive Roots Group or Duo of the Year nod.

“The three of us feel so blessed to receive these awards alongside some the most talented artists in Canadian Country Music.  This past year we’ve met new fans from coast to coast and we’re just getting started.  Wait till you see what we’ve got in store for you in 2019!” ( David, Aaron, and Chris)

The now 24X Country Music Award winners The Washboard Union have defied classification and continue to be  one of the most exciting and talked about new bands on the Country music scene.  Led by step-brothers Aaron Grain, & Chris Duncombe and their best friend David Roberts the Washboard Union share an unbridled love for the art of songwriting and storytelling that has resonated with audiences from North America to Europe.  Their music and unforgettable live performances have set them apart as one of the most unique talents in country music today.  The band launched their latest album as direct support for Nashville superstar’s Old Dominion on their Happy Endings Canadian Tour with whom they will tour again with in 2019.
