The Strumbellas: New Video Launches Major Tour

Toronto, ON – September 8, 2016 – Having just returned from a jam-packed trip overseas that included sold out shows in London and Cologne, and filled-to-the-rafters festival plays in Zurich, Milan and Paris, The Strumbellas are ready to give the world a glimpse of what happens once that green room door closes.  The video for their second single, We Don’t Know, had its broadcast premiere last night on Much and its online premiere this morning on Entertainment Weekly.

Teaming up again with Spirits’ video director, Daniel Rosenberg, and producer Michael Goldlist, the group shot the video (produced with the financial assistance of MuchFact, a division of Bell Media Inc) in their hometown of Toronto.  The follow up to the band’s #1 hit single, Spirits, which has streamed over 100 million times worldwide to date, We Don’t Know has been added to radio stations across the country and was recently featured by CBC in their Olympic montage leading into the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony.

hopeThe Strumbellas have trail blazed their way through 2016 since their critically acclaimed, chart topping, foot stomping single, Spirits, hit the airwaves in January. Not only did Spirits reach #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart in Canada and America, and the US Billboard Alternative Songs Chart, the track also achieved #1 in Italy (double platinum), #1 in Canada (platinum), is about to crack the top #10 in Germany (gold), and is one of the top 10 most streamed Rock songs of 2016 worldwide.

Both tracks hail from the band’s new album, Hope, which debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Folk Albums Chart, #9 on the Alternative Albums Chart and #12 on the Rock Albums Chart this past April. The band performed on both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and have been embraced by critics from The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Forbesand more. The Strumbellas have spent the year touring the world, playing Osheaga, Newport Folk Festival, British Summer Time and Lollapalooza all for the first time with much more to come.

The Strumbellas will be on tour performing at premiere fall festivals, Pilgrimage, Life Is Beautiful and ACL, as well as a slew of dates with Cold War Kids and a headline tour across Western Canada and the US.  Stay tuned for a Toronto show to be announced soon!  Visit www.thestrumbellas.ca for more tour info.
