TORONTO, ON – May 17, 2016 – Bluesy-folk-rock group Sun K are thrilled to announce The DoctorFeels Good Tour, kicking off at NXNE on June 17th at The Horseshoe (w/ NQ Arbuckle). “NXNE has a very special significance to our band,” shares frontman Kristian Montano. “Our first ever show was for NXNE and this year marks three years of Sun K – we can’t think of a better way to celebrate.” The tour will include stops in Quebec City, Halifax and Charlottetown – all details are below. The band is currently in the studio with producer Cone McCaslin (Sum 41) to work on their sophomore album. After releasing their debut album, Northern Lies, last March via MapleMusic Recordings (now Cadence Music) – the band quickly developed a reputation for their bluesy, folksy, dirty rock sound. Noisey declared; “Northern Lies makes it clear that the destination is worth the trip, even if there’s a heartbreak or two along the way .” Produced by Cone (The Strumbellas, Operation MD) and mixed by Gus Van Go and Werner F – the record quickly garnered critical acclaim.
For their sophomore album Montano says; “We’re recording the new album at Lincoln County Social with engineer John Dinsmore and producer Cone McCaslin. The sound, while maintaining our roots in Folk ‘n’ Roll, is definitely more immediate and attention grabbing. It leans heavily on sweaty old school underground Rock n Roll but also draws on a diverse set of influences to find our own classic sound. Something we like to call heavy roots.”
