Scott Helman Receives Gold For “Hang Ups”

On Friday, March 28, Warner Music Canada recording artist Scott Helman played a triumphant homecoming show at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall as a part of the sold-out Canadian leg of his Hang Ups Tour.  Towards the end of the 90-minute set, Helman was surprised by Warner Music Canada President Steve Kane who appeared on stage in front of a capacity crowd to present the singer a gold award for his current single, “Hang Ups.”

Co-written by Scott Helman, Gordie Sampson, Simon Wilcox and Thomas “Tawgs” Salter, “Hang Ups” was initially released in October 2018 on the eve of Scott’s tour of Europe with Vance Joy.  Since then, the single has hit the Top Ten at radio in Canada and has 71 playlist adds on Apple and 23 New Music Friday adds on Spotify reaching over 5 Million followers.

The official video for “Hang Ups” earned a JUNO Award nomination for director Ben Knechtel who has been a longtime collaborator with Scott.
