Monster Truck Release New Single “Evolution”; Band Announces New LP True Rockers Out September 14

Juno award-winning rock outfit, Monster Truck, will release True Rockers on September 14 via Dine Alone Records in Canada and via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group for the rest of the world. This is the band’s third full-length album and follow-up to 2016’s critically successful Sittin’ Heavy. Alongside the album announce, Monster Truck has also unveiled a brand new single titled “Evolution”.
Says guitarist Jeremy Widerman of the new track, which sees the band embracing a more modern rock aesthetic on both their songwriting style and production quality, “We wanted to try something a little different for Evolution…something with a bit more of a modern edge to our classic rock formula to convey a dire yet seemingly obvious message about the future.”
Produced by Dan Weller (SiKth, Young Guns, Enter Shikari), as well as Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace) and Maia Davies on select tracks; including lead single “Evolution”, True Rockers is the sound of a band letting loose and having fun. Recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, North Carolina, the sentiment that remains consistent throughout the new record is, ‘join the gang and we’ll all have fun together, no one is going to be excluded’“We want people to listen to (this record) and have as much fun as possible,” affirms lead vocalist and bassist Jon Harvey.
From the roaring, high energy, anthemic opener “True Rocker”, which features Mr. “I Wanna Rock” himself, Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), to the thrashy, juggernaut tune “Thundertruck”, to the infectious, bluesy-rock track “Devil Don’t Care”, True Rockers is Monster Truck at its finest. Amongst the feel-good tracks that make up the majority of the album, Monster Truck explore real depth in the emotional “Undone” which was written about people that struggle with addiction and the feeling of hopelessness, while album closer “The Howling” poses the question, are spirits real?
Monster Truck, who recently played a sold-out show in Toronto at The Phoenix, will perform at this year’s Download Festival and Winnipeg’s Super Spike before heading on a European tour later this year. For a complete list of confirmed tour dates, click HERE. Stay tuned for additional tour info.
