Siena Records/Warner Music Canada artist Jonathan Roy has today announced a series of live concert dates in support of the January 20, 2017 release of his debut album, Mr. Optimist Blues.  Roy will preview the new album in Quebec City (January 19, Le Cercle) and then celebrate the release in Montreal (January 20, l’Astral).  Jonathan will perform at the Soiree Feux et Flacons Outdoor Festival in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC on February 11th before joining the Philosopher Kings for selected dates on their 20th Anniversary Cross Canada Tour.  Tickets for the Quebec shows and Philosopher Kings dates go on sale this Friday at www.jonathanroyofficial.com.   All dates are listed below.

Following a recent 22-date sold out tour with Burton Cummings, Jonathan Roy announced that his major label 9 track debut album, Mr. Optimist Blues is scheduled for release on January 20, 2017. The record features the Top 10 hit “Daniella Denmark”, which became a staple on Canadian radio this past spring and “You’re My Ace” which was a Top 5 smash in Quebec over the summer.  Full details of the forthcoming single “Good Things” and the album’s release will be announced in early January.

“I’ve had an incredibly exciting year traveling coast to coast across Canada to promote my music,” says Roy.  “I met so many wonderful folks at radio & amazing fans at my live shows – I can’t wait for everyone to hear my new songs with the release of Mr. Optimist Blues.”
Jonathan Roy is the son of hockey legend Patrick Roy.  Jonathan had grown up following in his father’s footsteps, playing goalie for the Quebec Ramparts but his true life calling was music.

In 2013, Roy was introduced to Canadian music icon Corey Hart who felt an immediate soulful connection to young Roy and soon thereafter signed him to his Siena Records label partnered with Warner Music Canada. Jonathan and Corey recently recorded a version of Chris Rea’s popular “Driving Home For Christmas” which is enjoying radio airplay right across Canada this holiday season.
