JAZZ CARTIER PRESENTS VIRTUAL REALITY DOUBLE FEATURE FOR “RED ALERT” AND “100 ROSES”

Jazz Cartier breaks new ground with his new virtual reality double feature video for “Red Alert” and “100 Roses” two of the most fiery singles from his highly-acclaimed project, Hotel Paranoia. The world-wide premiere debuted on Complex today. An all-consuming experience, the video is an introspective, thrilling expedition into the rapper’s underworld, where dancing corpses and a forest full of savage Cuzzi’s coexist. The 360 degree telepresence effect of the video can be fully experienced on desktops through Google Chrome and Firefox, on smartphones through the YouTube app, and on any type of VR headset.

Produced by the distinguished music video production company Mad Ruk (Future and The Weeknd’s “Low Life,” Alessia Cara’s “Here,” and Martin Garrix’s “Now That I Found You”), and completed in partnership with Combo Bravo, a boutique creative agency that specializes in VR / 360 video and experiential media, the music video is multiple levels of pure adrenaline visuals. An outward-facing video, “Red Alert / 100 Roses” carries the same bravado and performance value as Cartier’s “thunderous,” (Billboard) often acrobatic live shows. Creatively directed by Jon Riera and technically directed by Connor Illsley, the video brings Cartier’s psyche to life. The pinnacle of his relentless 2016 schedule, the video arrives on the coattails of Cartier’s first headlining European tour. The back-to-back 14 dates included sold-out shows in London, Paris and Amsterdam.

Also, just this past weekend, Cartier kicked off his festival season with Rolling Loud in Miami, where he shared a star studded lineup that included Future, Young Thug, 2 Chainz and Ty Dolla $ign. Other festival appearances will include JMBLYA in Dallas and Austin, Field Trip in Toronto, Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal and the Forecastle Festival in Louisville. A US headlining tour is also set for the fall season. “ A quick-witted, versatile and introspective artist who evokes a vigorous energy that makes the limelight imminent,” (Earmilk) Cartier puts on one of the most dynamic rap shows, as proven by his performances at Fader Fort (w here he face-planted birthday cake onto fans) and The Illmore (w here he rapped hanging upside down from a ceiling fan ) at this year’s SXSW. As recognized by notable music critics, from Apple Beats 1 to The Fader, Cartier’s newest project, Hotel Paranoia, was a substantial follow-up to his debut mixtape, Marauding in Paradise. Released on Feb. 1, Hotel Paranoia was executively produced by Cartier and his right-hand producer, Lantz. “A dynamic clutch of cuts that span the turn up, the come down, and all the hazy, heady, and hyped up moments in between,” (i -D ) the project is catapulting Cartier to the forefront of the rap game. Hotel Paranoia was named “Best Hip-Hop Mixtapes of the Month” by Redbull and Cartier was a XXL Freshmen 15 nominee. Cartier, born Jaye Adams, has “confidently carved his own lane” (Complex) when it comes to separating himself from his contemporaries. Stay tuned for more exclusives.
