IndieCan + TME = a CMW Showcase Success

Cherry Cola’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Cabaret Lounge was hopping last Thursday, May 5th with the IndieCan Records talent showcase, co-hosted by the gang here at MusicExpress.

The night kicked off with Emily Mandronich wooing the the crowd, followed by a inspired solo set by Murray Foster (of Great Big Sea and The Cocksure Lads fame). Foster launched his set with the song “Sarah” and wrapped it up with the crowd pleasing “Freight Train Hard”.

“It was a pleasure and honour to play at the Indiecan showcase night at Cherry Colas. Remarkably enough, despite having performed nearly 3,000 live shows, I’d never done a solo show – and I was grateful to Avi, Music Express and CMW for giving me that opportunity. I had a great time – I might even go so far as to say I’m officially addicted to performing solo.” said Foster

Jennifer Holub followed up Foster with a beautiful acoustic set featuring songs from her upcoming LP “The Haunting”, while the bar continued to get jammed packed.

Possibly the highlight of the night was a rousing performance by Laura Tremblay and her stellar band. Laura got the crowd going and kept them going with tracks like “Take Over” from her upcoming debut disc “Lived It Well” produced by the formentioned Murray Foster.

Carly Thomas and Nick Sherman kept Cherry Cola’s rolling with killer performances until the wee hours when Rose-Erin Stokes and Annie Sumi, brought the night to a close.

“This was a great night, and a great way to showcase the talent we have been able to launch with IndieCan Records.”, commented IndieCan founder, Avi Federgreen.

Keep an eye for all of these artists and IndieCan Records – they are on to something, and that something sounds pretty damn good.
