Chevy Music Indie Fridays Returns to Yonge-Dundas Square with Kandle, Neon Dreams, Devin Cuddy Band + plus!

This summer Indie Fridays returns to Yonge-Dundas Square (YDS) for the 9th year in a row! With the launch of Chevrolet’s new music discovery program, Chevy Music, this will be the biggest and best Indie Fridays since Chevrolet began their partnership with YDS three years ago.

Throughout June 28 – August 30, YDS will host these popular multi-genre concerts in association with SHED/Universal Music Canada as a summer-long emerging artist showcase. Chevy Music Indie Fridays will feature free concerts by a wide variety of artists including Logan Staats, Surauchie, Kandle, Sons of Daughters, Common Holly, Skye Wallace, Moses Revolution, Rymz, DJ NDN, Neon Dreams and LOLAA.

On Friday, June 28, Chevy Music Indie Fridays will kick off with CTV’s The Launch Season 1 winner Logan Staats, electronic duo Wake Island, and soulful multi-instrumentalist Janette King.

Chevy Music Indie Fridays will host an evening of R&B and hip hop on Friday, July 5 with performances by Mississauga-based rapper Keita Juma, R&B producer collective Locals Only Sound, and R&B singer-songwriterSurauchie.

July 12 will be #FolkFriday at Yonge-Dundas Square with the Celtic sounds of Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie, the countrified rock of the Devin Cuddy Band, and the serenading songs of Kandle.

Chevy Music Indie Fridays will kick it country-style on Friday, July 19 with performances by brother and sister country duo The Beresfords, the reigning Chevy Music Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase winner Kris Barclay, and modern, gritty country duo Sons of Daughters.

On Friday, July 26, new music will take over the Square with performances steeped in indie rock by headliners Common Holly and Skye Wallace, plus groovy Canadian duo Garçons.

On Friday, August 2, Chevy Music Indie Fridays will host an evening of beautiful beats by: the Caribbean Acoustic Ensemble featuring Hayes ‘Kaili’ Thurton, Danny Rebel, Ross Whiteman, and Wayne Stoute, who formed this group specifically for this show; Jamaican Canadian reggae singer Carol Brown with Reggaddiction; and the Moses Revolution lead by Calypso and Soca musician Anthony Mose Lewis.

Chevy Music Indie Fridays on Friday, August 9 will include performances by Montreal MC Naya Ali, Afrofuturist DJ Shash’U, and Francophone hip hop artist Rymz.

On Friday, August 16 Chevy Music Indie Fridays will drop the beat for a night of dancing in the Square with appearances by free form beat manipulatorKorea Town Acid, Blk riot grrrl rapper Myst Milano, and electronic beats from Ian Campeau aka DJ NDN (co-founder and former member of A Tribe Called Red).

On Friday, August 23 Chevy Music Indie Fridays will pop with performances by singer-songwriter Madison Olds, the infectiously catchy Lo Lo, and the irresistible duo Neon Dreams.

The finale of Chevy Music Indie Fridays on Friday, August 30 will feature hot Latinx acts including dynamic Brazilian singer Aline Morales, Afro-Cuban quartet OKAN, and Mexican Canadian pop duo LOLAA.
