Ian Thomas – Little Dreams

(Alma/Universal) It’s a good job Ian Thomas’s marriage to wife Catherine is going smoothly; otherwise he would have had a bitch of a time writing this album. No Adele, Taylor Swift or even Alanis Morissette flare-ups here! All is well in the Thomas household with five of the album’s 10 songs reflecting positively on their long-term relationship. Ian, himself is obviously in a good place with tracks like `Life Is Good’, `What A Day To Fall In Love’ and `Don’t Touch A Thing’ all transmitting a positive vibe. Co-produced with former Boomers band mate, Peter Cardinali and featuring contributions from his Lunch At Allen’s sidekicks Marc Jordan and Murray Mclauchlan, these 10 songs are all deceptively simplistic yet stunningly effective. The self-titled lead-off single boasts a poignant message about taking time out to do simple things while “Stash Some Time Away” asks the question, “What would you give to spend just a little time with a lost loved one”. Beautifully recorded and brilliantly produced by a gifted artist at the top of his game.
