Corey Hart Announces 2019 Come-Back Tour

The Boy In The Box has decided to exit that box as Montreal’s Corey Hart staged a press conference Thursday in Toronto to announce a 12-date national Canadian tour in May and June 2019 which will support the release of a new EP, `Dreaming Time Again’ (to be released May 3rd) produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin.

Hart, who stormed the North American charts with his debut 1983 album, `First Offense’ which spawned a major hit single with ‘Sunglasses At Night’, then cemented that early promise with his `Boy In The Box’ album which featured ‘Never Surrender’, had been relatively quiet since releasing his last full album `Jade’ in 1998.

Now based in Nassau Bahamas, Hart has been more involved running his Siena Records label with a particular focus on developing the career of protégé, Jonathan Roy. Yet anyone who saw his guest duet with Shania Twain at her Quebec City concert appearance knew it was only a matter of time before Hart launched a comeback.

During the same year (2014), Hart celebrated the 30th anniversary of ‘Sunglasses At Night’ by staging his One Night – Three Decades concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre (June 3rd ) while also releasing a new EP Ten Thousand Horses and also releasing `Chasing The Sun’ – My Life In Music, a 432 page coffee table book which contained 500 photos of Hart.

Since that time, Hart has made concert appearances at the Calgary Stampede and Atlantic Festival (2017) and in 2017 was inducted into Canada’s Walk Of Fame in Toronto so it was only a matter of time before he returned to the spotlight.

With ‘Another December’ released as his EP’s first single and the EP’s title track, ‘Dreaming Time Again’ set for his second single release in January, Hart’s 2019 Never Surrender Tour (promoted by Live Nation) will kick off Friday, May 31st at the Mile One Centre in St John’s NFLD and will conclude Tuesday, June 25th at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
