DALLAS SMITH SIDE EFFECTS TOUR RECEIVES HIGH PRAISE

Multiple JUNO and CCMA Award winning entertainer Dallas Smith’s 2017 Side Effects Tour wrapped this weekend, in front of a sold out crowd in Abbotsford, after consistently ushering in crowds in the thousands, while notching twenty-eight shows in 27 cities across the country in just under five weeks.  Smith, a “widely praised entertainer,” (Our London) performed for close to 70,000 fans along with direct support from some of  the hottest rising country stars in the U.S. – Lauren Alaina, Michael Ray and The Cadillac Three.
“My ears are still ringing,” said Smith.  “This tour has been unforgettable – the best I’ve ever experienced. To the fans and all the people who filled the venues, bought a ticket and sang along to every word – thank YOU.”
Smith’s 2017 Side Effects tour thrived in big moments keeping fans on their feet until the very last note was played each and every night – a nightly goal to make sure the fans are having as much fun as he and his band are having on stage.  “Hitting a career high note as a country artist” (Kelowna Capital News), his “energetic stage show” (Prince George Citizen), made sure the fans left with an experience they’ll never forget – many taking to their social media accounts to express their praise and enthusiasm.
One of Smith’s most memorable shows came as the finale – a capacity hometown show at Abbotsford Centre where he played in front of a sold out crowd of raucous fans.
Appealing to audiences far beyond the boundaries with sonic layers and a stadium sized voice, Smith not only celebrated his fourth #1 single at Country radio in Canada this year, but became the first Canadian artist in both the Nielsen BDS and Mediabase era to have three consecutive #1 singles and the first Canadian male country artist to have three #1 singles from the same album (Side Effects – 604 Records).
Smith’s top-selling album “Side Effects” – released just over one year ago and produced by studio ace and long-time collaborator Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line) – features 12 tracks, including the albums first #1 single “Autograph” (the only #1 track from a Canadian Country artist in 2016) and the #1 hits “Side Effects” and “Sky Stays This Blue”. The album showcases Smith’s incredible artistry and confirms he’s in his own lane – earning critical acclaim, commercial success and one of the most talked about journeys in Canadian country music.
