BARENAKED LADIES GORDON CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH VINYL DEBUT

During the summer of 1992, Barenaked Ladies released their debut, Gordon. The album was widely praised for refreshing, upbeat and fun songs like the hit single, “If I Had $1000000.” This year, the alt-rock classic turns 25 and Rhino is celebrating the release by introducing the album on vinyl for the first time.

GORDON is currently available for pre-order and will be available on September 29 as a 2-LP on 180-gram vinyl

In 1991, thanks to the massive success of the band’s independently released cassette The Yellow Tape, Barenaked Ladies won the “Discovery To Disc” contest hosted by a Toronto radio station. The Canadian quintet used the prize money to record Gordon with producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda. Following its release on July 28, 1992, the Diamond certified album topped the Canadian charts for eight weeks.

The original album mixed an array of musical styles (pop, rock, hip-hop and more) and featured several fan favorites, including “Be My Yoko Ono,” “Brian Wilson,” “Blame It On Me” and “If I Had $1000000,” which remains one of the group’s best-known songs.
