Toronto-based indie rockers Fast Romantics are thrilled to announce that they will be playing a special release show in Toronto on Thursday, June 8 at the Mod Club Theatre to celebrate their latest record American Love being unleashed into the world. Presented by Collective Concerts & Indie 88, tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday May 5 at 12 pm ET. Fans can purchase tickets HERE, at Rotate This and Soundscapes.
Fast Romantics have had a fantastic time touring across Canada over the past month, including playing a number of sell-out dates with Vancouver’s Said the Whale. Unfortunately, things seemed to take a turn for the worse yesterday when the band discovered that their tour van had been stolen, along with many of their instruments and all of their merchandise. Fast Romantics were slated to perform at 102.7 The Peak when all of this went down.
“The Peak’s James Sutton graciously took us on the air to tell the city of Vancouver to be on the look-out,” lead vocalist-guitarist Matthew Angus shares. “Within minutes, one of the coolest people I’ve never met, named Jillian, took a photo of our van in front of her car. She called the cops. The cops pursued it, and I’m stunned and amazed to tell you that they’ve found our van.”

Fast Romantics is comprised of Matthew Angus, Jeffrey Lewis (bass), Kirty (vocals, acoustic guitar, synth), Kevin Black (guitars), Lisa Lorenz (keyboards) and Nick McKinlay (drums). Since forming in 2009, the band has released two full-length LPs and one EP. Known for their incredible live shows and songwriting prowess, Fast Romantics have received many accolades, including ‘Pop Group of the Year’ at the Sirius XM Indies (2014) and more recently their song “Julia” won the prestigious ‘SOCAN National Songwriting Prize’ in 2016.
